Protecting Against Road Salt

Road salt can have a harmful impact on your car if it is left to settle onto the paint for an extended period of time. In addition to damaging the appearance of your car's paint, it can lead to rust and corroding of the crucial mechanical parts. This is especially true if the road salt accumulates under your car.

Try to avoid driving on the roads when you know that salt trucks will be putting down road salt. You can get a leg up on the season by having your car waxed before the winter weather arrives. Once you notice that some road salt has stuck to your car, you should plan to wash it off with water as soon as you can. Wait until the temperature is above freezing. Washing your car at regular intervals is a great way to protect the exterior from all kinds of particle damage.
