Let’s be honest, driving on the highway is dangerous. Congestion and collisions are constant problems to deal with when traveling. It is with this struggle in mind that Honda is developing Safe Swarm.

According to techcrunch.com, the concept tech was unveiled at CES 2017 and is intended for cars to be able to communicate with each other in near real-time to avoid any of the collisions and congestion that would otherwise be caused by somewhat oblivious and distracted drivers. But this would also mean cars will be able to know the conditions of the road miles up ahead.

This tech was inspired by the behavior of a school of fish and is being developed at a time when the communication and the level of autonomy in cars are rapidly growing. While it’s not ready for production quite yet, there is no doubt of its life-saving potential, and it’s just another way Honda strives to increase the safety of their new vehicles.
