May we introduce you to the most technologically advanced Accord yet. The revitalized 2016 Accord made its debut while simultaneously celebrating Honda's new Silicon Valley Research and Development facility.

Frank Paluch, president of Honda R&D Americas, spoke at the facility opening and said, "Honda is committed towards advancing mobility on all fronts, and we're really looking at clean, safe, fun connected vehicles."

When it becomes available in dealerships this August, the Accord will be the first Honda model and first high-volume car to offer both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This will allow drivers to interact with their smartphones through the car's built-in display.

In addition to the latest connectivity apps, the Accord also offers a sleek new exterior, a revamped Display Audio touchscreen interface, and Honda's complete suite of safety features, which is "the most comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies in the midsize car class." This available option can be purchased separately.

The traditional powertrain will again be offered with two options: a direct-injected 2.4-liter inline i-VTEC 4-cylinder or a 3.5-liter VTEC V-6. The full list of features has not been released yet, but heated seats, HD Radio and front and rear parking sensors are a few additional touches for the 2016 model. Further details on the Hybrid model will also be released at a later date.
