The latest safety news we'd like to report here at Norris Honda is that our beloved Honda Civic just won a safety award. That's right; it now proudly touts a Top Safety Pick+ award given by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety for achieving a "GOOD" rating during its new test, the small overlap front crash test.
This test, occasionally referred to as the narrow offset test, is designed to imitate a scenario in which the car gets a hard hit to the front corner at a high speed. The Civic's Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™ II) body structure played an integral part in its success.
In addition to its body, the Civic also touts safety features including Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with traction control; dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags; side curtain airbags; Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and driver and front passenger seat airbags.
The Civic isn't the only Honda flaunting a Top Safety Pick+ rating. The Honda Accord sedan and coupe both secure the title. We also have a good lineup of vehicles that earned a Top Safety Pick title:
