In Australia, there are new variants of Honda Civic models available. It's part of a new sales tactic, which the Japan-based company hopes will help increase sales to match their 2010 numbers, about 40,000 units in a year.

Several new trims of the Civic are coming soon, including an upgraded based VTi-L with more standard features but a lower price compared to last year's vehicle. Two other trims are also making a new appearance on Australian lots - Civic Sport, as well as a hatchback coming in july, 2012. which will make up 25% of volume coming from the auto maker, and begin at $27,990.

There will also be a Civic Hybrid coming to the country, starting off at $35,990 MSRP.

The updated Honda Insight Hybrid will also be readily available throughout the continent, and the Jazz - their version of Honda Fit.

Honda Australia Director Stephen Collins confirmed that other models "will be sold with either a 1.8 liter petrol or 2.2 liter diesel engine." The auto maker predicts they will sell roughly 500 models per month.1
