Honda’s renowned reputation for safety continues as the company moves closer to becoming the first to offer a three-row SUV with the highest possible U.S. government and IIHS safety ratings.
Thanks to its comprehensive Honda Sensing Suite and Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, the all-new 2016 Honda Pilot was awarded a Top Safety Pick+* from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Pilot received a top rating of “good” in each tested category, including the formidable front overlap test.
Only vehicles equipped with frontal crash prevention systems can be chosen for a Top Safety Pick+ designation, and the Pilot’s system earned the highest rating of superior. A windshield-mounted camera and front grille-mounted wave radar system allow the Pilot to sense and to adapt to possible collisions, including those situations involving pedestrians. If the vehicle senses a collision or road departure, it can send warnings to the driver or initiate emergency braking/steering if necessary.

Standard safety features include Vehicle Stability Assist, Anti-lock Braking system with Brake Assist, frontal airbags, side airbags, side-curtain airbags, rearview camera and front seats designed to alleviate neck injury during a rear collision.
The extensive list of internal safety features is coupled with Honda’s most advanced ACE body structure (which includes a new “3-bone” underbody frame design and hot-stamped high-strength steal door rings) to give Pilot customer’s the most advanced technology and features available on any Pilot model ever built.
