If you are a fan of the urban sized  Honda Fit hatchback, you will be happy to hear that company officials recently confirmed the addition of 2 new body styles to the Fit family: a sedan and crossover.

What's more, the entire Fit lineup will be built at the new Honda manufacturing facility in Mexico and aim to increase its presence in both the Mexican and U.S. markets. With still an important chunk of time left before production, details for the fresh variants are hazy.

The Honda Fit trio (hatchback, sedan, and crossover) will formally come to completion in 2014 in conjunction with the Mexico plant's opening. Where  does Honda expect to sell these fresh Fit options? For now, Execs can't really say. However, according to MSN Autos, "Honda President Takanobu Ito told Automotive News the vast majority of the plant's output would got to the United States."1

Which is a good sign that the new Fit lineup could soon be available at our Honda dealership in Baltimore in 2014.

As for design, we don't have much information at this time. However, Norris Honda can tell you that the Honda Fit crossover should look something along the lines of the bigger, more aggressive Brazil-based Fit Twist. This model has a larger presence than a hatch as well as a more aggressive front end.

Eager to try out a crossover or sedan version of the compact Honda Fit? If you're out and about in the Baltimore area, stop by and get more information from a member of our sales team. Of course, you can also start up a conversation online as well. Contact us directly or share the news with other Honda followers via social networks including Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.
