How much do you like Honda? We imagine you have a vested interest in it if you're browsing our blog. We have some great news today for existing and potential Honda owners as we celebrate our Summer Clearance Sales Event, and it comes in the form of social media.
The Summer Clearance Sales Event kicked off on July 15 and encouraged Twitter users to get in on the fun by tweeting Honda with the #wantnewcar hashtag. In response, the Twitter user could receive a fun, customized Vine video from Honda. The hashtag generated more than 100 million impressions and almost 10,000 #wantnewcar mentions.
Earlier this month, Honda also announced that those interested can also tweet #HondaLove and share their personal stories of their love for the automaker. The response will be met with a live Vine video, just as the #wantnewcar trial.
"It was great fun to see #wantnewcar effort along with a surprise Rebecca Black cameo catch fire on Twitter and Vine, and we're excited to tie the Summer Clearance advertising into our ongoing 'Honda Loves You Back' efforts--we've got a few more surprised up our sleeves to show appreciation for our Twitter fans and Honda owners," explains Susie Rossick, Senior Manager at American Honda Motor Co., Inc.1
The Honda Love social media campaign isn't brand new, as it's been in the making for over two years. Efforts to show appreciation for its followers include paying for Honda owners' parking and throwing a surprise parade for a Maine resident's accomplishment of driving one million miles on his 1990 Honda Accord
