When you buy a new Honda you know what you are going to get, a car that is dependable, durable, and gets great mileage. If you take care of your Honda and keep up with maintenance, you could get really, really, really great mileage. Maybe even one-million miles of "great mileage." Joe LoCicero, a Honda driver from Maine, recently reached the one-million mile mark on his 1990 Honda Accord.

There's a good chance that a feat such as that of Joe elicits numerous questions in your mind. Most prominent of those is probably: How? Actually driving that many miles was hardly difficult for Joe. He averaged 62,000 miles per year while working as a claims adjuster and traveling across the entire state of Maine. But perhaps the biggest reason Joe's Honda Accord made it to the million-mile mark, is his diligent maintenance regimen.

Joe made sure to accurately follow the owner manual and maintenance schedule, check the fluids weekly and switch them annually, use quality Honda parts, change the oil every 5,000 miles, change the brake fluid every couple of years and always made sure to never let the tank run on empty.

Of course, Joe does have 18-years of experience as an auto technician up his sleeves. "Cars have been in my blood and life for over 32 years,"1 he says. But, you don't need to me a skilled mechanic to take care of your car. If you can't be bothered to do it yourself, you can always take it into Norris Honda for service. And, who knows...If you do manage to make it to one-million miles, maybe, just maybe, Honda will give you a brand-new Honda Accord, like they did with Joe.
