Norris Honda, serving the greater Baltimore area loves filling Honda drivers in on the Big H's late-breaking innovations, new cars, leading-edge safety breakthroughs, green technologies and philanthropic initiatives. But, we're also committed to providing you with as balanced a perspective as possible. For, as we all know, it's dangerous to look at the world through rose colored glasses. So, with that in mind, we'd like to inform you of a recent voluntary recall made by Honda.

The recall targets drivers of 2005-2010 model-year four-cylinder Honda Accord CR-V crossovers as well as 2005-2008 model-year Honda Element crossovers. Certain vehicles within these parameters have been found to have issues with their automatic transmissions. Specifically, the secondary shaft bearing may be damaged from strong, repetitive shifting often used to dislodge a stuck vehicle.

We are happy to report that the issue is not known to put drivers at risk. Rather, if the secondary shaft of the automatic transmission is damaged, it can result in either the engine stalling or challenges putting the affected Honda Accord CR-V and Element models into park.

Honda will be releasing official recall notices at the end of August. Norris Honda encourages you to bring your Honda into our service and repair center, located at 925 Merritt Blvd Baltimore, MD at your earliest convenience so that we may address the issue, at no cost. The work we will be performing essentially involves updating the affected vehicle's software responsible for controlling the auto transmission.

If you have questions or concerns about Honda's voluntary recall, please contact Norris Honda today. We're happy to answer any questions you may have.
